“Which language does Saint Andrew’s use: traditional or contemporary?”
The short answer is: we use the contemporary language at the earlier Sunday service and the traditional language at the main Sunday service.
Also, at Saint Andrew’s, the lay readers often use the traditional language in the Book of Common Prayer (BCP) for Canticles, Collects, etc., and we use the 1662 Book of Common Prayer for Choral Evensong.
If the readings above refer to a page in the BCP, then click here to go straight to The (Online) Book of Common Prayer (1979).
For all other readings, you may click here for an online calendar of the Lectionary. Once there, find the day of the reading in one of the calendar date squares. To go to the readings for that day, click in the square on “RCL” for Revised Common Lectionary. We are currently in “Year A, Track B,” so if there is more than one option for a given reading, we will use the second listed.

May 27, 2012, the Seventh Sunday of Easter: The Sunday after Ascension Day
O God, the King of glory, you have exalted thine only Son Jesus Christ with great triumph to thy kingdom in heaven: We beseech thee, leave us not comfortless, but send us thine Holy Ghost to comfort us, and exalt us to the same place where our Savior Christ is gone before; who liveth and reigneth with thee and the same Holy Ghost, one God, world without end. Amen.
