In Highland Park
Highland Park isn’t just where St Andrew’s happens to be located – it’s our home.
Our faith invites us to love our neighbors as ourselves.
Below are just a few of the ways in which we we strive to be a home for all our Highland Park neighbors, whether or not they are members of the congregation!

February
Mardi Gras/Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper
Our annual pancake supper invites the whole neighborhood to let the good times roll as we prepare for Lent! New for 2026 will be games and the crowning of pancake supper royalty.
April
Easter Egg Hunt
Our annual Easter morning egg hunt is held on the front lawn and is open to all neighborhood families.

May
The Highland Park House Tour is a self-guided walking tour of 10+ unique homes/properties in the neighborhood. Registration and ticket sales are held at St. Andrew’s and our sanctuary is the first stop on the tour!
June
St. Andrew’s sells donated goods and books on our lawn (or inside the parish hall in case of rain!) as part of the annual Highland Park Yard Sale each June. All proceeds go toward our Outreach Ministries.

September
Blessing of the Animals
Service
Each year we bless animals on the front lawn in memory of St. Francis, who found God in his connection to creation and to those who are poor. All furry, fluffy, scaly, and slimy pets from the neighborhood are welcome!
October
Neighborhood Vaccine Clinic
In fall 2025 we hosted our first Vaccine Clinic in partnership with Giant Eagle Pharmacy. Both the flu vaccine and updated COVID booster were available. Allies for Health & Wellbeing were also onsite to speak with those needing health care or assistance signing up for insurance. We’ll be back again for 2026!

October
Halloween
Our sanctuary is transformed into a spooky church with lights, a smoking cauldron, and organ music each year for Halloween. Neighborhood families can stop by to trick-or-treat (in 2025 we handed out 600 pieces of candy!), explore the church, and/or take a break in one of our pews.
December
During this festive neighborhood walking event, we provide cookies and cocoa for neighborhood children - plus the opportunity to visit with and take a photo with St. Nicholas!

Bimonthly throughout the year
Rev. Sara Irwin is a co-organizer for the Highland Park People’s Supper, part of a nationwide community-building endeavor (not affiliated with the church, but spiritual nonetheless!). This monthly potluck dinner is hosted at St. Andrew’s and is open to all Highland Park community members.
