Our Leadership
In the Biblical world, “church” was never a word used to describe a place – ”church” is a people.
St Andrew’s isn’t just a lovely arrangement of bricks and mortar, but a spiritual home for God’s people.
We are part of the wider Christian family of the Global Anglican Communion, of which our part comprises 106 dioceses and one mission area across 22 countries or territories. We are a congregation of the Episcoal Diocese of Pittsburgh, which extends as far north as Butler County, South to the West Virginia border, and East through Somerset County. Our bishop is the Rt. Rev. Ketlen Solak.

Our leadership includes not just our rector, but a strong, creative team of dedicated lay volunteers who shepherd this community. Our Vestry (elected at the annual meeting) acts as the governing board and serve alongside the Rector to make decisions and lead our community.

Our Vestry
The vestry is the elected governing body that, in cooperation with and under the leadership of the Rector, make decisions on behalf of the congregation. The St Andrew’s vestry consists of 9 members, fulfilling three year terms. From those members, the executive committee is selected: the senior warden, junior warden, clerk, and treasurer. The senior warden leads the parish between rectors and is a support person for the rector. The junior warden often has responsibility for church property and buildings. The basic responsibilities of the vestry are to help define and articulate the mission of the congregation; to support the church’s mission by word and deed, to select the rector, to ensure effective organization and planning, and to manage resources and finances.
