Kevin M. Clemens, CAGO, a native of Altoona, PA, has served most recently as organist of Christ Lutheran Church (ELCA) in Murrysville, PA. He holds a B.S. in Music Education from The Pennsylvania State University and a Master of Church Music degree from Kent State University. He studied organ with Jeffrey Pannebaker (through high school), June Miller (Penn State), and the late Michael Farris (Thiel College). He studied piano with the late Robert Kelley (through high school), and Philip Dettra (Penn State).
Upon completion of his bachelor's degree, Kevin taught elementary vocal and instrumental music at Springfield Local School District (Akron, OH) and served as part-time organist-choirmaster of St. Timothy Episcopal Church of Massillon, OH. He served the Archdiocese of Baltimore for 30 years, serving the parishes of St. Ursula RC Church (Parkville) and St. John the Evangelist RC Church (Severna Park). He finished his career as a full-time church musician at The Inter-Faith Chapel of Leisure World in Silver Spring, MD. In August of 2021, he moved to Pittsburgh.
In addition to his church music career, Kevin was sub-dean and dean of the Akron, Ohio and Baltimore Chapters of the American Guild of Organists (AGO). An active member of the Organ Historical Society, he has documented the historic pipe organs of Western and Central Pennsylvania and played recitals in the 1991 (Baltimore) and 2011 (Washington, DC) national conventions.
