Social Justice

The St. Andrew's Social Justice Team is chaired by Wes Rohrer and Jodie Moore. Bimonthly or quarterly, we'll focus on a justice issue and offer ways to approach the topic from spiritual, legislative, and hands on perspectives.

Current Focus: Food Insecurity

For the remainder of 2025 and through January 2026, the Social Justice Team will be focusing on food insecurity.  Read more from Heather Cox Richardson here about how the program that was once called “food stamps” helps prevent hunger.

Take action! The federal food assistance program SNAP, (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) is slated to stop as a result of the government shutdown, despite the USDA’s previous declaration that contingency funds would be used in such a situation. A bill (S3024) sponsored by MO Senator Joshua Hawley so far has 29 cosponsors from both parties.

Encourage our own senators to sign on as cosponsors by calling  John Fetterman and Dave McCormick!
